BIAS Peak Γäó is an advanced audio application which provides superior tools for editing and processing digital audio on the Macintosh computer. Peak was specifically designed to meet the needs and demands of audio professionals. By combining high-quality direct-from-disk digital audio editing features with a lighting fast, completely non-destructive editing environment, Peak provides unsurpassed audio editing power, and makes a superb addition to multitrack audio applications programs ΓÇö such as DigidesignΓÇÖs Pro Tools ┬« and MacromediaΓÇÖs DECK II Γäó . Peak also offers advanced sampler support, and works directly with many popular MIDI sampling keyboards and rackmount samplers.

  7. ΓÇó Direct-to-disk recording and playback at all sample rates supported by the sound hardware on your Macintosh, or supported through third-party audio hardware.

  9. ΓÇó Support for commonly used audio document formats, including AIFF, Sound Designer II Γäó and Red Book. Peak versions 1.1 and higher will also support QuickTime Γäó and .WAV formats.
  10. ΓÇó Completely non-destructive file-based editing with unlimited undo and redo.
  11. ΓÇó Professional editing abilities, including user-definable fade curves, silence, and complete support for cut/ copy/paste with unlimited undo/redo.
  12. ΓÇó By using an application that supports Apple Events, such as Filemaker Pro Γäó or HyperCard Γäó , you can catalog your Peak sound files ΓÇö and audition them from within the application.
  13. ΓÇó Support for third-party digital audio hardware, such as the Digidesign or Numedia digital audio boards, through the Macintosh Sound Manager.

ΓÇó Support for third-party Adobe Premiere Γäó Plug-Ins, allowing you to add advanced signal processing features to Peak. Plug-Ins from companies such as Waves and InVision Interactive can be used to empower Peak with digital filtering, noise reduction, reverb, equalization, and other effects.

  20. To use Peak you will need:
  21. ΓÇó Any PowerPC-, 68040-, or 68030-equipped Macintosh with an Apple Sound Chip (ASC). Peak also supports all PowerPC- 68040-, or 68030-equipped PowerBooks
  22. ΓÇó 16MB of RAM (Power Macintosh) or 8MB of RAM (68040 or 68030 Macintosh)
  23. ΓÇó Macintosh System Software version 7.1 or later
  24. ΓÇó Sound Manager version 3.0 or later
  25. ΓÇó A hard drive with 18ms or faster average seek time
  26. ΓÇó A 13ΓÇ¥ or larger monitor (color recommended)

  28. The optimal system for use with Peak software is a Power Macintosh with AV (Audio Visual) features and 8MB or more of RAM available to run Peak. The Peak application runs in native mode on both 680X0-based Macintosh models and Power Macintosh-based models.
